N899.3M DISBURSED AS LOAN TO MEMBERS OF COOPERATIVE SOCIETIES

A sum of N899.3m has been disbursed as loan to Cooperative Societies in Ogun State to cushion the financial problems of members, while N944.6m was repaid thus brought the balance of loan outstanding to N1.252bn.
This was contained in the monthly progress report of the Ogun State Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives.
Meanwhile Local Governments in Ogun State have embarked on massive development projects aimed at improving the standard of living of the people at the grassroot.

DANIEL LAUDS JUDICIARY FOR ROLE IN NATION BUILDING

The Judiciary has been lauded for playing credible role in the nation’s match towards a stable and enduring democracy.
The Ogun State, Governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel gave the commendation at the launching of a book titled: “Selected Essays” in honour of Mr. Justice George Soremi.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Adegbemi Onakoya, the Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to a modernized and vibrant judiciary through improved infrastructure, capacity building and better funding.

DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS, OUR PRIORITY- DANIEL

Developmental projects will continue to be the priority of the Ogun State Government as a way of ensuring the rapid industrialization of the State.
The Secretary to the State Government, Mr Adegbemi Onakoya gave the assurance while featuring in a radio programme in Abeokuta.
Mr Onakoya said that the Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s administration will not relent in putting relevant machineries into place to achieve economic property for the people of the State.

ORIENTATION COMMITTEE COMMITTED TO PRESERVING OF LEGACY

The Ogun State Orientation Committee is committed to propagating the cultural value system that would further preserve the developmental legacies of the present administration.
The Chairman of the Committee and Special Adviser to the State Governor on Information and Orientation, Chief Alamu Alagbe, stated this while speaking with Journalists in Abeokuta.

ELDERS CONSULTATIVE FORUM SUES FOR PEACE

The Ogun State Elders Consultative Forum has appealed to the people to remain committed to the peaceful environment prevailing in the State in order to maintain the rapid socio- economic and industrial development being witnessed in the State.
In a press release, the Chairman of the Forum, Prince Bola Ajibola, noted that this was the time to allow peace to reign in view of the ruling of the State Election Petition Tribunal, reconfirming Otunba Gbenga Daniel as the State Governor.

LOCAL GOVT WORKERS ADVISED ON PENSION DEDUCTION

Local Government workers in Ogun State have been enjoined to ensure that the 5% Redemption Bond is deducted and remitted to the appropriate authority as it is meant to take care of their past services.
The Permanent Secretary, Bureau of State Pension, Barrister Hezekiah Tayo gave the charge at a meeting held with members of Local Government Management Committee in Abeokuta.
He disclosed that Abeokuta North and Odogbolu Local Governments are yet to update their pension deductions being remitted to the Bureau.

OGUN VOWS TO REDUCE POLIO

The Ogun State Government is fully committed to the prevention and reduction of polio in the State.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abiodun Oduwole who said this during a press interview in Abeokuta, emphasized that the State government has not relent in its effort in improving the health sector and proffering solution to polio despite the economic melt- down now ravaging the world.
She added that the State Governor, Otunba Daniel was always ready to approve funds for different programmes aimed at meeting the health needs of the people.

DANIEL BAGS TWO AWARDS FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE

The Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has bagged the “Apostle of Good Governance in Nigeria award.
The award which was received on his behalf by the Commissioner for Community development and Cooperatives, Prince Lekan Tejuoso, was conferred on him by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Remo Division in recognition of his numerous contributions to the upliftment of Christianity in the country.
The Governor described the award as a reward for hard-work and steadfastness, pledging to continue to work for the betterment of the society.

I WILL ENSURE PROSPERITY FOR ALL-DANIEL

The Ogun state Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has re-affirmed his commitment to the success of the Agenda for a Secured future for the people of the State.
The Governor stated this while reacting to his victory at the election petition tribunal in Abeokuta.
Otunba Daniel maintained that the 2007 election was the most keenly contested in the history of the State, describing the judgment as a victory for the people and promised to extend the hands of fellowship to the opposition in moving the State to greater heights.

OGUN TO PARTNER PRIVATE SECTOR FOR BENEFIT OF COTTON FARMERS

The Ogun State Government has expressed its readiness to partner with the private sector to alleviate the sufferings of cotton farmers.
The State Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Tunji Akinosi, made the remark at a meeting with management of a yarn producing company, Spintex Mills Nigeria Limited and officials of National Cotton Association of Nigeria (NACOTAN) in the South-West.
