Functions of the Department of Hotels and Allied Businesses Include:

• To license Hotels, Bars, Motels, Restaurant, Fast Food, Eateries, Night Clubs, etc.
• Initiates, formulate, monitor and execute policies relating to Hotels and Allied Businesses in the State.
• Regulating, standardizing, categorizing, classifying, registering and controlling all tourism facilities and operators within the industry in the State. The industry covers hotels, restaurants, bars, night clubs and entertainment houses.
• To oversee the activities of all Hotels and Allied Businesses in the State.
• To regulate and make sure there are no deviation from standard “standard upheld is standard valued”
• To inspect and supervise in order to ensure compliance.
• To monitor for effective productivity and performance.
