VISION

The vision is to pursue with vigour forest regeneration activities and reclamation of environmentally unstable areas in the State, and to develop and manage forest resources on sustainable basis to ensure continuous and uninterrupted supply of Timber and Non-Timber Forest Products.

MISSION

The Ministry’s mission is to ensure rapid development and conservation of our forest resources through regeneration and controlled exploitation of timber and non-timber forest resources for the purpose of economic development and environmental sustainability.

POLICY THRUST: Placement of emphasis on attaining laudable objectives of the Strategic Vision for Nigeria and the State’s ISEYA Mantra which includes;

• Restoration of the State’s Nine (9) Forest Reserves to its initial status through the removal/reduction of illegal settlers and other illegal activities.
• Rigorous forest regeneration to ensure the supply of forest resources as raw materials for both commercial and industrial purposes.
• Steady patrol and protection of the States Forest Estates.
• Development and conservation of forest resources through controlled exploitation for economic development.

Environmental protection through prevention and control of atmospheric pollution, forest degradation and carrying out of researches into core forestry programmes.
