CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT: This directorate is saddled with the corporate image of OGIRS. It involves planning, strategizing and research to meet the corporate objective of the agency. The directorate anchors the Corporate Planning, Research and Performance Management, Corporate Service and Monitoring & Evaluation.

Duties:

  1. Preparation of OGIRS Revenue Budget upon the receipt of call up circular from Ministry of Budget and Planning
  2. Distribution/Allocation of Approved Revenue Budget to tax offices, units and departments.
  3. Monthly Analysis of OGIRS Revenue Performance.
  4. Monthly Analysis of KPI and preparation of tax offices revenue performances
  5. Organizing quarterly and annual performance review session.
  6. Providing Technical Services to Joint Tax Board (JTB), Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) State Fiscal Transparency, Accountability & Sustainability (SFTAS)
  7. Attending to taxpayers’ enquiries via the hotlines and other official social media platforms such as face book, Instagram, Twitter, Online chat etc.
  8. Liaising with appropriate Heads/Director for enquiries that cannot be effectively handled/attended to.
  9. Sharing useful information that could easy tax compliant with tax payers such as tax offices and addresses/locations, government accounts and designated collecting banks, reminder on filing of returns, monthly PAYE remittance etc.
  10. Liaising with directors/heads of departments and units for timely communication and dissemination of useful information to taxpayers.
  11. Providing walk-in inquiry services similar to customer care services in banks.
  12. Ensuring that tax payers receive prompt, courteous and professional assistance.
  13. Give room for tax payers to lodge complaint and possibly speak to Directors/SAs/Chairman on inadequate or unsatisfactory services.
  14. Monitor all the agency’s social media/corporate sites in order to add value to the brand- Telephone messages, Twitter, Instagram.
  15. Organise events like end of the year awards, events and customer appreciation, outreaches and gifts in conjunction with relevant key stakeholders.
  16. Bringing tax awareness closer to the people, both in Urban and Rural areas through Road Tax awareness campaign/road show.
  17. Liaise with the Informal sector to be present at their meetings with different trade associations for effective publicity.
