DEPARTMENT OF SPECIAL DUTIES, STRATEGIC AND FISCAL POLICIES

The department is responsible for the following among others:

1. Haulage Revenue: This department was mandated to anchor the project by ensuring that payment for the haulage tickets actually hit government coffers. This is in a bid to block revenue leakages and ensure sanity in the haulage revenue collection process in the State.
2. Land Use and Amenities Charge: This department is responsible for the treatment/resolution of complaints brought forward by property owners and monitoring the activities of the consultant for effectiveness.
3. Revenue Monitoring and Enforcement Exercise: In a bid to block revenue leakages and blocking identified loopholes as well as reawakening the citizens to their civic responsibilities, the department engages in revenue monitoring and enforcement activities.
4. Review/Enactment of Revenue Related Laws and other fiscal policies: The department participates in the Stakeholders meetings on any review/enactment of revenue related laws of the House of Assembly and offer useful suggestions where necessary.
5. Monitoring of Activities/Determination/Computation of Commission Payable to Revenue Consultants: The department monitors the performance of the revenue consultants domiciled in the Ministry of Finance, compute and process the commissions payable to them to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in their operations.
