FUNCTIONS

 Coordinate routine surveillance on diseases of public health importance and other public health interventions e.g TB, Malaria, Chicken pox, COVID-19, HIV/AIDS, Measles, Monkey pox, Meningitis e.t.c

* To stop transmission of the causative agent

*  Monitor surveillance and reporting of vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs) in class cooperation with relevant agencies

*  To eliminate vaccine preventable diseases such as poliomyelitis by improving vaccine coverage for all antigens. e. g.HBV, BCG, Pentavalent vaccine, Measles and Yellow fever.

*  Conduct periodic surveys to establish baseline or trends on PHC services and other related issues
