The Functions Of The Department

This Department is made up of Four (4) functional Divisions and they are:

  1.  General Administration & Maintenance Division
  2. Personnel Division
  3. Procurement & Supplies Division
  4. Pension & Staff Welfare Matters Division
  5. General Administration & Maintenance Division

           This Division is charged with the following statutory responsibilities:

  • Formulating, Executing and Reviewing of Policies and Programmes on Administrative and Human Resources Management.
  • Implementing all policies and Programmes relating to Administrative functions, in line with the Public Service Rules and other Extant Regulations.
  • Allocating and maintaining the Ministry’s Vehicles
  • Providing essential and Administrative support services.
  • Dispatching and receiving of mails through the Open Registry Unit.
  •  Keeping and updating records of all staff of the Ministry via the Open Registry.

ii Personnel Division

     This Division is charged with the following statutory responsibilities:

  • Coordinating Manpower Planning, Confirmation, Training, Leave, Promotions, Discipline, e.t.c
  • Collection and collation of data for the preparation of Manpower Budget.
  • Preparing Budget Estimates in relation to manpower needs.
  • In charge of Internal Posting of the Ministry’s Staff.
  • Serves as the Secretariat of the Ministerial Tenders Board.
  • Serves as the Secretariat for Junior and Senior Staff Committees.

iii  Procurement & Supplies Division

      This Division is charged with the following statutory responsibilities:

  • Securing and maintaining all physical resources and ensuring timely requisition when the need arises;
  • Controlling the Inventory of the Ministry’s resources including but not limited to Offices, Fixtures and Fittings, Vehicles e.t.c.
  • Allocating office furniture, office tools and equipment

iv  Pension & Staff Welfare Matters Division

   This Division is charged with the following statutory responsibilities:

  • Processing of Leaves (Annual, Maternity and Casual Leaves) of staff.
  • Ensuring proper update of Staff information on Establishments matters and communicating same to the Bureau of State Pension for further necessary action.
