The Directorate is a service department of the OGIRS providing legal service and enforcement of Taxes/levies on behalf of the OGIRS.  Activities of the department includes but not limited to the following duties:

1. Vetting & drafting of legal documents on behalf of the Agency.
2. Rendering legal advice and representing the IRS on legal issues.
3. Representing IRS in court matters and prosecuting tax defaulters in courts.
4. Preparation of new Bills and amendments of Bills where need be in conjunction with the Ministry of Justice.

Conducting pre-trial conference for witnesses in preparation for court trials and Research on legal matters.
